Football Chases Friday Night Lights Win Over Dunbar

Setting the Scene: A match-up of teams that each came up short will play out during Week 2 of the 2019 football season when Milford hosts Dayton Dunbar on Friday night, September 6. Playing against a squad with several Division I commits, the Eagles hung around with Princeton early before the Vikings scored 24 fourth quarter points to pull away for a 38-7 victory. Dunbar, in a much publicized contest, fell to Roger Bacon 23-8 in Week 1.

Noting the 2019 Season

  • After playing primarily on the defensive side of the ball in 2018, junior RB Caleb Johns carried the ball 18 times in the opener against Princeton, finishing with a career-high 100 yards rushing.
  • The Eagles welcomed nine new starters on the offensive side of the ball and seven on defense in the Princeton contest.
