Football Eagles Set For Home Opener Against Lakota East

SETTING THE SCENE: With its first victory of the 2021 season under its belt, the Milford Eagles are back on the gridiron this Friday night, hosting Lakota East in its home opener. The Eagles were flying high on opening night, registering over 500 yards of total offense in a 41-14 win at Edgewood, handing head coach Tom Grippa his 200th career win. Milford benefitted from a 149-rushing performance by Natwan Webster and 100+ receiving yard efforts from Reece Davis and Chase Duesing last Friday. The match-up marks the first between the Eagles and ThunderHawks since 2006.

Notable 2021 Performances 

  • Junior RB Natwan Webster enjoyed the second 100-yard rushing game of his career in Week 1 against Edgewood, finishing with 149 yards on just 15 carries. He also gained 133 yards last year against Turpin.
  • Sophomore WR Reese Davis had a big performance in his first varsity game with 141 yards receiving. He along with Chase Duesing (124 yards) became the first Eagle duo since September 2019 (Vince Ringland & Max Ward) vs. Loveland to each top 100 yards in the same game.
  • In just the sixth full game of his career, junior QB Austin Hardin tossed four touchdowns or more for the third time. He has 18 TDs and nearly 1,800 yards to date.
