Football Kicks Off 2020 Campaign Hosting Oak Hills

Setting the Scene: A what figures to be an unprecedented 2020 season kicks off for Milford as the Eagles host Oak Hills in a Week 1 non-conference match-up. The well document COVID-19 virus has already wreaked havoc on the Eagles’ schedule. They’ll play a lone game outside the ECC against an Oak Hills squad that finished 2019 with an 0-10 record.

Notable 2019 Performances by 2020 Returnees

  • 2019 All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference selections:
    • Vince Ringland (1st team)
  • After playing primarily on the defensive side of the ball in 2018, RB Caleb Johns carried the ball 18 times in the opener against Princeton, finishing with a career-high 100 yards rushing.
  • Payton Bauer and Noah Earley each scored their first career receiving touchdowns against Dunbar.
  • Vince Ringland had a monster performance in the second contest against Loveland, finishing with 173 yards receiving, the highest by an Eagle since at least 2012.
  • Vince Ringland again showed his versatility against Anderson, finishing with 93 receiving and 12 rushing yards, averaging 40.5 yards on two punts and placing two of his three kickoffs in the end zone for touchbacks. He also recorded three tackles and forced a fumble.

RINGLAND EARNS PRESEASON NOD: Senior Vince Ringland was won of several players across the tri-state area to earn preseason recognition from the website Tristatefootball.com. Ringland was named an honorable mention selection as an athlete. As a junior, Ringland started games at both QB and WR, while also handling kickoff and punting chores for the Eagles. His play as a punter earned him second-team all-district accolades.
