Vince Ringland tossed three touchdown passes and Milford’s defense came up big down the stretch as the Eagles overcame a halftime deficit to outlast Oak Hills, 28-24. Ringland connected with Natwan Webster, Payton Bauer and Ibrahima Niang, while freshman Cole Miller found the endzone on a short run to account for the Eagles’ scoring.
The Eagles took a 14-3 lead just seconds into the second quarter after Ringland found Bauer from 31 yards out. Oak Hills would go on to score the next 21 points to jump to a two touchdown lead. Miller’s short jaunt drew the Eagles back within 24-21 and Ringland found Niang with a beautifully thrown ball with under a minute left to round out the night’s scoring.
The Highlanders had the ball twice in the final four minutes of the game, but the Eagle D rose on each possession, holding the visitors without a first down on each drive.
