Football Set To Open ECC Play Friday at Walnut Hills
Setting the Scene: The start to ECC play marks the league’s annual Battle of the Eagles as Milford travels to Walnut Hills for a Week 4 match-up. The season has started well for both squads as each is 2-1 and winners of two in a row. Milford is looking to extend its win streak over Walnut to six straight with a win this week.

Noting the 2019 Season
- After playing primarily on the defensive side of the ball in 2018, junior RB Caleb Johns carried the ball 18 times in the opener against Princeton, finishing with a career-high 100 yards rushing.
- The Eagles welcomed nine new starters on the offensive side of the ball and seven on defense in the Princeton contest.
- Senior LB Lucas Bowling scored the winning points against Dunbar with an 18-yard interception return. His pick-six was the first by an Eagle since Bryce Dugan against Anderson on Oct. 20, 2017.
- Junior Payton Bauer and sophomore Noah Earley each scored their first career touchdowns on passes from Hunter Johnson against Dunbar.
- Vince Ringland (112) and Max Ward (101) each finished with over 100 yards receiving against Loveland. They became the first duo since Dylan Hughes (163) and Jake Ayler (101) to top 100 in the same game since last year’s playoff win over Fairfield.
- Ward also became the first Milford receiver since Dylan Hughes on Sept. 29, 2017 against Walnut Hills to catch 3 TDs in a game.
