Four Boys Basketball Players Earn Postseason Honors

Area and league coaches, along with local media have awarded four Milford boys basketball players accolades for their play in the recently completed season. Erich Morgan, Gavin Dalen and Matt O’Donnell each earned All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference and All-Southwest District honors, while Ben Vollman picked up hardware from the ECC.

Morgan is the big honoree as he was tabbed first team All-ECC, second team all-district in a vote of coaches and honorable mention all-district by the media. He concluded a fine senior season ranking fourth in the league in scoring with 15.8 points per game. Morgan also set a Milford school record for three-pointers in a season by connecting on 57. He finishes his career with back-to-back all-conference first team awards, along with the third most three-pointers in a career by a Milford player with 93.

In his first full varsity season, Dalen earned first team All-ECC, as well as honorable mention all-district from both the coaches and media. Dalen’s junior season saw him average 11.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game, along with 53 blocked shots. Among ECC players, he was 13th in points per game and second in both rebounds and blocks.

O’Donnell showed marked improvement from a year ago, finishing the season averaging nine points and nearly seven rebounds per game. His play earned him second team All-ECC and honorable mention all-district from the media. O’Donnell upped his scoring average over four points per game from last season, while grabbing one more rebound per contest as well.

Vollman was Milford’s honorable mention All-ECC selection. His junior campaign saw him average seven points per game, while pacing the squad in assists with 53.
