The successful volleyball season enjoyed by the Eagles volleyball program was recently recognized as four members of the team earned All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference honors, voted on by the league’s coaches. Highlighting the list was senior Angela Kapitula who earned first team honors.

Joining Kapitula among the league’s best were sophomore libero Emily Morgan and senior setter Abby Thierauf on the second team and junior middle blocker Jill Stokes as an honorable mention choice.

In earning her first-ever All-ECC award, Kapitula ranked third among all conference players with 253 kills (a 3.30 per set average), while adding 2.25 digs per game. She finished her senior campaign with 11 double-doubles, including a high of 20 kills against West Clermont and 19 digs vs. Kings.

Morgan had an outstanding sophomore season defensively, ranking sixth in the league with 331 digs (3.68 per set) and topping all ECC players with 57 service aces. She finished with 20+ digs four times, including a high of 23 twice. Morgan had a total of 13 aces in win over Withrow.

Thierauf became a four-time All-ECC honoree, picking up honorable mention accolades in each of her first three years. Despite sharing time at setter, Thierauf finished seventh in the ECC with 405 assists (4.55 per set) and also added 24 blocks. She finished in double figures in assists in 19 of 25 matches and had a high of 30 in a marathon win over Lebanon.

Stokes was one of the top blockers in the ECC this fall, tallying 50, the fourth most among league players. She had six blocks twice and finished with 10 kills on three separate occasions.
