Four MHS Cross Country Runners Named All-ECC

Posted on: November 15, 2018

ECC All-Conference: Four Milford High School athletes were selected to the Eastern Cincinnati Conference’s all-conference roster for boys and girls cross country.

Boys:  Two Eagles were recognized for the 2018 season.

Senior AJ Dickerson was named to the ECC’s All-Conference first team.  The senior, who previously played football, opted for cross country for the first time and put together an excellent cross country season.  Dickerson won the Harrison Invitational individual championship, and finished in the top 3 overall in four of the five regular season meets.  At the 2018 ECC meet, Dickerson placed 5th overall, an accomplishment especially impressive when the ECC had at the time the 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th and 12th top ranked teams in the city of Cincinnati. Dickerson just missed advancing to the Regional meet, as he finished 18th in a field where the top 16 individuals advance. He received second team all-ECC honors for track last spring.

Dylan Mullarkey was selected to receive honorable mention honors for the ECC All-Conference awards.  Mullarkey’s time consistently improved over the course of the season, and the sophomore ended the year with a new career best of 17:15, good for 30th at the OHSAA District Meet.

Girls:  Two Lady Eagles were named to All-ECC Teams for 2018.

Emmy Sager was named to the ECC’s second team All-Conference roster. The freshman was just the fourth girls cross country runner for the Eagles to qualify for the OHSAA State Championships and the first since 2008, where she finished in 111th  of 176 runners with a time of 20:34.  Sager qualified for State at the Cincinnati DI girls Troy Regional by finishing 13th with a new career personal record of 19:07.  The first year varsity runner took 2nd place at the Loveland Invitational helping the team to finish as runners-up, and she placed 3rd in the Varsity A race at Centerville’s Saturday Night Lights.  At the ECC Championships, Sager was the top Milford girls runner and finished 12th.

Junior Olivia Loeffler earned honorable mention for the 2018 ECC All-Conference honors. Loeffler’s new personal best time of 20:21 placed her 22nd at the OHSAA DI District Meet, just two runners shy of joining Sager in moving on to Regionals.  She earned two top-ten finishes in 2018; 6th place at the Loveland Invite, as well as 9th at the Ross Invitational.  Loeffler received honorable mention in 2016 as well.
