Milford's 3rd annual Game of Hope will be held on Wednesday, January 25. The Milford and Turpin Basketball families are uniting once again to raise money for "The Cure Starts Now Foundation" and the fight against cancer.

"Our Game of Hope is to honor Lauren Hill and to keep her dream alive to find a cure for cancer. Our Game of Hope represents all cancers represented by the color purple and this year the color grey to represent childhood cancer," shared Milford girls head basketball coach," Kristi McKenney.

Game of Hope Planned Activities:
  • T-shirts will be sold to students at both schools starting Wednesday, January 18. T-shirts are $10 and the purchase of a t-shirt by any student gets them into the game free. T-shirts are short sleeve. All players JVB/JV/V will wear long sleeve and be asked to donate $10 for the shirt. T-shirts will be sold at the event as well.
  • Each team will be donating a basket for the basket raffle. Winners will be announced at halftime of the Varsity game and need not be present.
  • All Donations will go toward the Cure Starts Now. Any checks written for the event need to be made to the Cure Starts Now. Anyone who makes a donation and all players will receive a special #playfor22 bracelet.
  • The Lay-up for Lauren Challenge will take place in the lobby of the Fley Center as people enter and at halftime of the Varsity Game. Donations are required to participate in this.
  • Everyone who enters the game, will be given a "I give Hope to Sign" to fill in and will write the name of someone special to them that is fighting cancer, that has survived cancer, and unfortunately someone we lost. Prior to the game there will be a special ceremony and everyone will be asked to stand and hold their sign.
  • Split the pot will be sold at all games and winner must be present.
  • Special presentation to Lisa Hill prior to game.
  • Baked goods will be sold.

"I want to pack the gym on January 25. We come together two schools, girls and boys programs, and community and fight back against cancer. Bring someone who is fighting the battle, bring someone who has survived, and bring someone who has been a wonderful caregiver to our fighters," said Coach McKenney.
