GCTCA Coaches Classic, Two ECC Teams Ahead For Boys Tennis

THE UPCOMING DOCKET:  A full week is on tap for the Eagles with two ECC contests and the annual Coaches Classic tournament of the Greater Cincinnati Tennis Coaches’ Association.  In conference action, Milford will be on the road this week, taking on the ECC’s Walnut Hills (2-3) as well as Kings (3-1) in a match rescheduled from earlier in the season.      

The Eagles will also take part in the GCTCA Coaches Classic.  Milford’s 2018 boys tennis team won the Flight C team championship, aided by a 1st place finish from Mark Ostrander at third singles, and Milford took first out of eight teams. 

The seed meeting for the GCTCA tournament was held Mon., April 22.  Milford will play in Flight E, which will feature a new Round Robin format this year, and all Flight E games will be played at Fairfield High School.

Tuesday, April 23:                  Milford at Walnut Hills High School at Milford, 4:00 pm

Wednesday, April 24:              Milford at Kings High School, 4:00 pm

Thursday, April 25:                 Milford at GCTCA Classic - PPD TO TO RAIN

Saturday, April 27:                 Milford at GCTCA Classic, Fairfield High School, 8:00 am

 

A LOOK BACK:   

April 15, Lakota East at Milford        

The match with Lakota East has been rescheduled to May 6.

                                                                   

April 18 at Milford: Anderson 3, Milford 2

The first doubles duo of Kasey Shumard/Wyatt Lindsey scored for Milford in a match that went three sets.  Shumard/Wyatt won the first set 6-4 over Hensley/Huang, who then fought back to a 5-7 win.  Milford prevailed for a 6-2 victory in the third, however, to win the match.  In singles play, Mark Ostrander fell to Anderson’s Scott 3-6, 4-6; Michael Faller was defeated by Feagans 0-6, 0-6; and Will Kroeger lost 3-6, 3-6 to Zhou.  Milford won at second doubles by forfeit.

  

INSIDE THE ECC:  Milford sits at 2-6 overall, and 1-3 in the ECC, while Loveland improved to 5-0 and is the current ECC leader.  Standings are as follows:
