Girls Basketball Heads To Withrow For Saturday Matinee

SETTING THE SCENE: After winter weather forced the postponement of its mid-week game, the Milford High School girls basketball team will travel to Withrow for a Saturday afternoon contest in its only game of the week. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. Milford’s Senior Night contest against Kings has been rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 12. Milford brings a 6-14 record into the match-up with the Tigers.

 

TOURNEY TALK: The Eagles will open OHSAA Tournament play on Thursday, Feb. 15 when they take on Mount Healthy at Lakota East High School. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. Click here to see Milford’s sectional tournament draw.

 

A LOOK BACK: February 1 at Madeira: Maderia 45, Milford 36

 

GAME REWIND

Milford held a 22-19 halftime lead, but was limited to just three points in the fourth quarter as Maderia earned a come-from-behind 45-36 win over the Eagles. MHS battled back in the fourth, but could get no closer than six points in the final quarter as the Amazons completed their Senior Night victory.

Walnut Hills enjoyed a 23-5 scoring advantage in the first quarter en route to a 58-28 win over Milford. Trailing big at the half, Milford posted an outstanding third quarter, outscoring its adversary 19-7 to pull closer. But Walnut finished with a 12-2 fourth quarter scoring edge to pull away.
