February 4 vs. Kings
Following a wild last minute, Milford came away on the smiling side of a 51-50 victory over Kings. The game featured three lead changes in a 17 second span in the final minute and wasn’t decided until Eagle Paige Ayler grabbed a rebound as time expired on the Kings’ game-winning attempt.

Kings’ Madi Barnett put the Knights up 48-46 with 1:15 to go, but Kaylie McKenney answered just seconds later with a three-pointer to put the Eagles back in front. Barnett again answered, this time a jumper, but McKenney, playing with four fouls, drove the lane for her second go-ahead bucket in a span of just over 30 seconds.

Milford looked to have the game in hand when Ayler and Madalyn Hills stood their ground and absorbed a charge from Abby Rawlings with three seconds to go. Though it looked like the win would belong to the Eagles, one final twist awaited both squads. On the inbounds play, Kings tied up the Eagle ballhandler to force a jump ball. But Barnett’s bid to play hero one final time rimmed out and the Eagles had the victory.

The first 31 minutes were just as action-packed as the final with neither team leading by more than seven points. The score was tied at 26 at the half, one of five ties on the night, along with nine lead changes.

McKenney’s five points in the last minute pushed her total to a career-high tying 16 for the night. Ayler recorded her second double-double of the year with 12 points and 10 boards. Katie Taum added 10 points.
