Girls Basketball Report: February 8
February 8 vs. Little Miami
Milford closed the regular season on a high note, knocking off Little Miami by a 45-32 final score and clinching the program’s first winning season since 2015-16. Paige Ayler and Kaylie McKenney came up big for the Eagles, combining for 29 points and 20 rebounds in the victory.
The Eagles showed they meant business from the opening tip, leading from start to finish and jumping to a 10-point lead early in the second quarter when Ayler knocked down one of three triples she would hit on the night. The lead would balloon to as much as 16 in the fourth as the Eagles improved to 12-10 on the year and gave senior Devin Morris a win in her final home appearance.
Another key was Milford’s ability to stop Mara Briscoe, who entered the night averaging 14.5 points per game, but was held scoreless by the Eagles.
