Girls Bowling Back In Action with Walnut Hills
SETTING THE SCENE: Milford’s girls bowling team improved to 13-0 with wins over Turpin, and will have a break before diving back into conference action with Walnut Hills. Four Lady Eagles set individual season bests last week, guiding the team to post their highest team score of the season.
A LOOK BACK: After a few weeks of nonconference action the Lady Eagles returned to conference play and recorded a team score of 2685, the best yet thus far in the season. The Eagles hosted Turpin on Tues., Jan. 9, when a number of individual season bests were recorded. Jessica Norman had quite a day, leading the Eagles with a 431 series high and a 241 in game one, both personal season bests. Jessica Haines followed with a 406 series. Megan Cannon and MacKenzie Mason both posted season bests as well; Cannon with a 212 high game and 391 series, and Mason with a 205 game and 364 series. Reaghan Kaylor joined in the win with a series of 279 as the Eagles defeated the Spartans 2685-2331.
Milford swept the series with Turpin the following day, 2282-2146 to remain a perfect 13-0 on the season. This time it was Haines who recorded a new season best high series of 448. Three Lady Eagles each competed in two games; Cannon (304), Norman (302) and Kaylor (297), while Mason added a 183 in game one.
The Eagles participated in the LaSalle Lancer Baker Bash on Sun., Jan. 14; check back for results.
A LOOK AHEAD: Milford’s bowling teams will have a week-long break as they head into the final month of the regular season. The squads will be back in action on January 22nd, as they face the ECC’s Walnut Hills.

INSIDE THE ECC: With two wins over Turpin, Milford improved to 8-0 in conference play and remains atop the ECC. West Clermont is 6-2 following wins over Kings, while Walnut Hills improved to 2-2. Anderson and Turpin are both 2-4, and Kings and Loveland are tied at 1-5. Milford’s team average rose to 804.1, while West Clermont’s fell to 768.2.
Five of the Lady Eagles are among the individual leaders within the top ten of the ECC:
Megan Cannon: high game (10th – 212); series high (8th – 391)
Jessica Haines: overall average (1st – 187.5); high game (1st – 248); series high (1st – 448)
Reagan Hodges: high game (8th – 215)
MacKenzie Mason: overall average (8th – 164.9)
Jessica Norman: overall average (10th – 159.1); high game (3rd – 241); series high (2nd – 431)

POLL WATCH: UPDATED! Seton will take a turn at the top of the Cincinnati Enquirer’s area coaches’ poll in week ten, bumping Northwest to second. Mercy follows at third, while for the second week in a row Fairfield and Lebanon are tied for fourth. Milford remained in seventh while West Clermont moved back into the poll at tenth. dropped out of the top ten.
