Girls Bowling Takes On The ECC's Kings In Week Ahead

A LOOK BACK: Milford's first victory of the season was a convincing 2039-1637 defeat over McNicholas High School, #4 in the preseason rankings for the Division II area coaches’ poll.  The Lady Eagles were led by Jessica Norman's 383 series and a high game of 214.  Reaghan Kaylor averaged a 184 for day with a 368 series, followed by Reagan Hodges (299), Fallon Austin (236) and Clarissa Kester (217).

 

A LOOK AHEAD:  This week the Lady Eagles (1-0) will face their first conference opponent of the year with home and away meetings with Kings (0-1).  The week closes at the Annual Big Blue Challenge, where Milford finished 5th in 2017.

Sun., Dec. 2:               Milford at Big Blue Challenge, The Game of Fairfield, 9:00 am

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:  With conference play yet to begin, Milford and Turpin sit atop the ECC standings, both 1-0 in non-conference action.  Kings and Loveland are 0-1, while Anderson competed at a tournament over the weekend and Walnut Hills and West Clermont open the season this week.

Though early in the season, Milford is off to a strong start and atop the team leaders with a 751.5 team average.  Lady Eagle statistical leaders:

Average: Norman (1st - 191.5); Kaylor (2nd - 184); Hodges (9th - 149.5)

High Game: Norman (1st – 214); Kaylor (t-2nd – 188); Hodges (4th – 171)

Series High: Norman (1st – 383); Kaylor (2nd – 368); Hodges (8th – 299)

 

POLL WATCH: Milford fell to sixth in the area coaches’ poll for week one, despite a win over McNicholas in the first match of the season.  While Fairfield and Seton held onto the top two spots, Northwest vaulted to third after entering the preseason poll in sixth. Mercy McAuley and the ECC’s West Clermont are now fourth and fifth. Loveland (15), Anderson (8), Turpin (4), Walnut Hills (2) and Kings (1) received votes in the latest poll, which can be found at http://preps.cincinnati.com/coachespolls.
