Girls Bowling To Face ECC Rival West Clermont
THE UPCOMING DOCKET: Conference rival West Clermont awaits Milford. Since 2015, Milford has lost just five conference matches, all to West Clermont or the former Glen Este High School. In 2016-17 Milford split the series and the conference championship with West Clermont, but in 2017-18 the Eagles swept the Wolves to claim the outright ECC title. This week will present a challenge for Milford’s girls, as the West Clermont team is again strong, leads the league in overall average, and currently boasts the top three bowlers in the conference.

A LOOK BACK:
December 4 at Lakota West: Lakota West 1787, Milford 1783
By a margin of just five pins, Milford fell to Lakota West in a non-conference match up. Reagan Hodges led the Eagles with a high series of 307, while Jessica Norman posted the team’s high game with a 153. Reaghan Kaylor (238), Fallon Austin (220) and Clarissa Kester (216) each added two game series to the team total of 1783.
December 9 at Holiday Classic:
In a crowded field of 32 teams from Ohio, Kentucky and even Tennessee, Milford’s girls team worked their way through the bracket to win the consolation round of the Holiday Classic. Milord first defeated Sycamore, the ECC’s Loveland and Notre Dame Academy to reach the final, when the Eagles won over Harrison. The consolation bracket win earned the Eagles a free entry to the 2019 Holiday Classic. White House High School from Tennessee won the girls championship, while Centerville and Mercy McAuley finished second and third.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Loveland and West Clermont remain at the top of the standings as of Dec. 9, each with 4-0 records in the ECC. Walnut Hill improved to 2-2 with wins over Anderson, and Milford follows at 1-1. Kings fell to 1-3, followed Turpin (0-2) and Anderson (0-4), both looking for their first ECC victories.
Milford is currently third in team average (695.3) behind West Clermont (774.7) and Loveland (695.7).

Average: Norman (7th – 154.1)
High Game: Norman (3rd – 214); Kaylor (9th – 188)
Series High: Norman (5th – 383); Kaylor (7th – 368)
ICYMI: Jessica Norman was nominated for the Cincinnati Enquirer Female Bowling Athlete of the Week for Nov. 26. Norman's 383 series and a high game of 214 led the Eagles to their first victory of the season, a convincing 2039-1637 defeat over McNicholas High School.
POLL WATCH: Milford fell out of the top ten of the area coaches’ poll for week four, but received 7 votes. Northwest, previously fifth, vaulted to the top of the latest poll while Mercy McAuley fell from first to second. Fairfield, Seton, and Oak Hills round out the top five. The ECC’s West Clermont remained in seventh, while Loveland, previously eighth, fell out of the top ten.
