Girls Golf Closes Regular Season This Week Against Anderson, Loveland

SETTING THE SCENE: Fresh off a fifth place finish in last week’s Eastern Cincinnati Conference Championship, the Milford High School girls golf squad will now polish off its regular season schedule with a pair of league match-ups to start this week. The Eagles will open on Monday at Anderson in a match rescheduled from last week by rain. Milford will then return home for the final time on Thursday, hosting Loveland.

 

THE UPCOMING DOCKET: A look at Milford’s schedule for the upcoming week:

  • Monday, Sept. 25 at Anderson, Reeves GC, 3:25 p.m.
    • 2017 Dual Record: 10-6, 2-2 ECC
    • Top Player: Megan Bryan (45.4 average)
  • Tuesday, Sept. 26 vs. Loveland, Hickory Woods GC, 3:30 p.m.
    • 2017 Dual Record: 9-2, 3-1 ECC
    • Top Player: Alejandra Bonet (42.0 average)

 

A LOOK BACK: Sept. 19 at Anderson: The match-up between the Eagles and Redskins at Reeves Golf Course was rained out and rescheduled for Monday, September 25.

 

Sept. 21 at ECC Tournament: Milford earned a fifth place finish at the 2017 Eastern Cincinnati Conference Tournament, contested this season at Walden Ponds Golf Course. Sophomore Megan Loux (T-11th) and senior Casey Broxteman (T-13th) paced the Eagles with rounds of 91 and 92, respectively. Kings’ Alex Swayne (64) and Walnut Hills’ Katie Hallinan (67) ran away from the field on the individual leaderboard with the Knights taking top honors in the team competition.

POLL WATCH: Milford did not receive any votes in the final Division I area coaches’ poll of the fall, sponsored by the Cincinnati Enquirer. Ursuline Academy was crowned the poll champion with 11 of 12 first place votes cast. Second place Lakota East received the other, with Mason, Sycamore and McAuley rounding out the top-five. The ECC is represented by Kings in seventh and Loveland in eighth, with Turpin also receiving votes. The final coaches’ poll can be viewed at preps.cincinnati.com/coachespolls.
