Girls Golf Puts Win Streak On Line In Pair This Week

SETTING THE SCENE: The Milford High School girls golf team, winners of two straight duals and three of its last four, are back on course this week with a pair of matches on area courses. The Eagles won both of their contests last week and will try to extend the stretch this week with match-ups on Tuesday against Turpin and Thursday against Little Miami. The Spartans, who finished one spot behind the Eagles in the preseason Eastern Cincinnati Conference tournament, are off to a 6-1 start in dual play this fall.

THE UPCOMING DOCKET: A look at Milford’s schedule for the upcoming week:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 4 vs. Turpin, Deer Track Golf Course, 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 6 vs. Little Miami, Eagles Nest Golf Course, 4:00 p.m.

 

A LOOK BACK: Aug. 28 vs. Loveland: For the second time this year, the Eagles knocked off their closest rival, clipping Loveland by a 188-203 score at Eagles Nest Golf Course. Senior Bre Severns led the way for Milford with a team-best score of 44.

 

Aug. 30 at Mount Notre Dame: The Eagles finished off the week with another win, this time scoring a convincing 188-205 win over Mount Notre Dame at Mill Golf Course. Bre Severns again led the Eagles, this time being joined by junior Megan Loux as co-medalists. Each player carded a round of 45 in the win.

POLL WATCH: Milford continues to receive votes in the weekly Cincinnati Enquirer area coaches’ poll, released on Sept. 4. Lakota East and Mason share the No. 1 spot this week, with the former taking four first place votes, to two for the latter. Third place Ursuline picked up the remaining five No. 1 votes. Sycamore and Mercy McAuley round out the top-five. The ECC is represented by Kings in ninth and Loveland in 10th. The coaches’ poll is released every Monday at Noon at preps.cincinnati.com/coachespolls.
