Girls Golf Wraps Up Regular Season Wednesday Against Walnut Hills

SETTING THE SCENE: The Milford High School girls golf team will put regular season play behind them this week after concluding the slate with a Wednesday match against Walnut Hills. The Eagles are coming off of a week highlighted by a fourth place finish in the 2018 Eastern Cincinnati Conference Tournament. Following the match-up with Walnut, the Eagles will focus on the OHSAA Sectionals, scheduled for Monday, Oct. 1 at Walden Ponds Golf Course.


THE UPCOMING DOCKET: A look at Milford’s schedule for the upcoming week:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 26 at Walnut Hills, Forest Hills Country Club, 4:00 p.m.


A LOOK BACK: Sept. 17 at Mercy McAuley: The Eagles battled the newly formed Mercy McAuley High School for the first time, dropping a 180-185 match at Fairfield Greens South Trace. Junior Megan Loux was the low scorer of the day for the Eagles with a score of 40.


Sept. 18 vs. Anderson: Milford celebrated Senior Day with a convincing 181-209 win over Anderson at Deer Track Golf Course. One of the Eagles’ trio of seniors, Bre Severns, paced the Eagles with a round of 43.


Sept. 20 at ECC Championship: Senior Alexis Crowell finished in a tie for eighth place with an 18-hole score of 88, leading the Eagles at the 2018 ECC Championship. In the team standings, Milford finished fourth overall with a score of 369, just eight shots behind third place Turpin. Kings took the team tournament title by 17 shots over Loveland after carding a team total of 343.

POLL WATCH: In the final Cincinnati Enquirer Division I area coaches’ poll of the year, the Eagles were one of several teams among others receiving votes. Mason was crowned poll champions after earning 10 of the 13 first place votes. Second place Ursuline took the other three top nods. Lakota East, Sycamore and Lakota West round out the top-five. The ECC was represented by Kings in seventh and Turpin in 10th with Anderson and Loveland joining the Eagles in others receiving votes. The final coaches’ poll can be viewed at


SEVERNS WINS ENQUIRER AWARD: Senior Bre Severns, thanks to the support of Eagle Nation, was voted the winner of the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Golfer of the Week Award, announced on Sept. 7.
