Posted on: November 7, 2016

Headlined by a trio of first team honorees, the Milford High School girls soccer squad placed seven on the All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference teams recently announced by the league. Seniors Holly Barlage and McKinley Dumm, along with junior Bryn Rolfsen all earned the recognition for their outstanding play this fall.

Milford also placed three on the All-ECC second team, with freshman Ali Claus and seniors Madison Wenzler and Amanda Zanola all earning plaudits. Senior Tori Gilman was Milford’s honorable mention choice for this year.

Barlage earned All-ECC mention for the first time in her career, finishing her senior campaign with three goals and two assists for a total of eight points. Her best scoring performance of the year came with a goal and assist in a defeat to Centerville.

Dumm was among the top players in the league in assists, tying for sixth overall with six. She also found the back of the net four times on her own, finishing the campaign with 14 points.

Rolfsen was among the league’s best in scoring ranking eighth in points (22) and sixth in goals (10). Now a two-time all-conference choice after earning second team honors a year ago, Rolfsen scored a pair of goals twice in a game this year, including a two-goal, one assist performance in a win over Kings.

Claus broke onto the scene in a big way in her first high school season with six goals and four assists, totaling 16 points. Wenzler and Zanola were both stalwarts on defense for the Eagles, with the latter adding one goal and one assist. Gilman also grabbed All-ECC honorable mention last year and finished her senior year with two goals and three assists.

The Eagles finished 2016 second in the ECC with a 3-1-2 league record, while posting a 7-8-2 overall mark.
