Girls Soccer Travels To Withrow, Returns Home For SoccerFest This Week

SETTING THE SCENE: Looking to snap a modest two-match losing streak, the Milford High School girls soccer team will return to the pitch for two contests in the coming days. Holding an overall record of 2-5-4, the Eagles will first look to improve on a 1-1-2 Eastern Cincinnati Conference mark on Tuesday night, traveling to Withrow. Then on Saturday, Milford will host its annual SoccerFest with Lebanon visiting for a full day of soccer action. It will also be Senior Night at Charity J. Lucas Stadium.

 

THANK YOU SENIORS: Senior Night will be celebrated at Charity J. Lucas Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 29 in conjunction with the Eagles 7 p.m. match-up with Lebanon. Prior to kickoff, the senior class of Taylor Cassidy, Madison Chitwood, Emily Dominique, Ali Kirk, Hayden Moehring and Mikayla Pulliam will be honored for their contributions to Milford Soccer over the past four years.

A LOOK BACK: Sept. 18 at Turpin: Milford struggled against Turpin, the squad leading the ECC, falling 3-1. Senior Ali Kirk scored her third goal of the season to move into a tie for the team lead.

 

Sept. 22 at Oak Hills: A full day of soccer action at Oak Hills ended with the Eagles falling in a high scoring 4-2 decision to the Highlanders. Senior Madison Chitwood and junior Tori Kittrell each scored their first goals of the season. Picking up assists for the Eagles were senior Ali Kirk and sophomore Abby Nehlen.

POLL WATCH: Milford continues to receive votes in the Sept. 24 edition of the Cincinnati Enquirer Division I area coaches’ poll. Loveland and Fairfield each received nine first place votes, with the Tigers holding a narrow advantage at the top of the rankings. Mason, Mount Notre Dame and the ECC’s Anderson (one first place vote) complete the top-five. Turpin is 10th this week with West Clermont, Kings and Walnut Hills joining Milford among others receiving votes. The coaches’ poll is released every Monday at Noon at preps.cincinnati.com/coachespolls.
