Grabenbauer, Conrad Qualify For Cross Country Regionals
October 24 at OHSAA District Meet
Juniors Ayla Grabenbauer and Sam Conrad both had stellar days on the course at the OHSAA District Meet, as each qualified for next week’s Regional Championships with top-20 finishes. Grabenbauer easily had her best run of the year, finishing 15th overall with a time of 20:02.2, shaving 28 seconds off her previous best. Conrad was just seconds behind her teammate, crossing the line in the 20th and final qualifying position in 20:07.5.
In this year’s unique format because of COVID-19 restrictions, two races were held with the top-five teams and top-20 individuals moving on to next week’s regionals in Troy. The Eagle duo become the first Milford female runners to qualify for regionals since Emmy Sager in 2018.
