Posted on: October 16, 2017

Junior Justin Horn was one of three Milford High School representatives on the All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference boys golf squads, the league recently announced. Horn’s successful campaign earned him first team honors, while Cameron Loux was tabbed to the ECC second team and Cole Watson was Milford’s honorable mention selection for this year. Horn was also named honorable mention on the 2017 Southwest Ohio Golf Coaches' Association All-Star squad.

Horn highlighted his junior season by qualifying for the OHSAA Southwest District Tournament, missing a chance to compete in a playoff for a State Tournament berth by a single stroke. At the ECC Tournament, Horn shared medalist honors with Loveland’s Pete Matuszak and concluded the regular season with the best nine-hole average in the league at 38.9 for nine holes.

Loux finished his senior year with a 42.5 average, good for 15th in the ECC regular season, while shooting an 88 at the league championship to finish tied for 28th. Watson, just a freshman finished 33rd at the ECC Championship and carded a 45.0 season scoring average.

A successful fall season saw the Eagles finish third in the ECC final standings, while placing fifth in their OHSAA Sectional, missing a team district berth by just 10 strokes.
