Posted on: April 4, 2019

Milford senior Steven Huxell will don an Eagles jersey one more time as he has been chosen to take part in this Friday night’s (April 5) District 16 All-Star Game at Withrow High School. Two games will be played, with Huxell taking part in the Orange vs. White game with tip-off at 8 p.m. The Black vs. Gold game, featuring smaller division school players, will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Huxell will suite up as a member of the White team, coached by Walnut Hills’ Ricardo Hill. The roster also features Walnut’s Greg Phelia and West Clermont’s John Aicholtz. The contest will have a strong ECC flavor as Josh Slonim will lead Team Orange with Spartan Nick Haddad, Withrow’s Mike Hill and Loveland’s Jalen Greiser all expected to play. Huxell was a first team All-ECC choice, as well as a first team All-District 16 (coaches vote) and third team All-Southwest District (media vote) selection this winter. He was one of the top scorers in the league this year, ranking second among all players with 15.6 points per game. One of the top three-pointer shooters in the league as well, Huxell connected on 45 triples this season, while also making 73 percent of his free throws. He showed his all-around game by averaging 3.9 rebounds per game, dishing out 57 assists and nabbing 27 steals.
