IMPORTANT Milford Athletic/Extracurricular Updates

Posted on: March 13, 2020

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine ordered all schools in the state to close for a mandatory three-week period to help stop the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). With the Governor issuing a three-week closure for all public schools in the state, we will err on the side of caution and health and safety and are suspending all athletics and extracurriculars for these three weeks. Starting Saturday, March 14 and going until Sunday April 5, we are shutting down all 7th-12th grade athletics, activities, & clubs, including indoor and outdoor functions. This includes all outside rentals.

During this time there should be no activities including: practices, games, weight lifting/conditioning, team award ceremonies, tryouts, or other team meetings/gathers on-site or off-site. Coaches/Advisors should not have any physical contact with student-athletes. We are also not permitting any indoor activities or practices during Spring Break (April 6th-April 12th) at this time. I have already communicated to all coaches of these details. This is a fluid situation and things will be re-evaluated week-to-week and day-to-day. I will do my best to keep you informed through this process.

At this time, there is no intention or indications of cancellation of spring sports. We are hoping that spring sports can possible return to full activities the week of April 6 and we can salvage as much of the season as possible. I will communicate directly with spring sports coaches/athletes/parents as we get closer to that date.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to me directly.

Thanks for your cooperation during this very difficult time. Please stay healthy and we hope we can return to our normal activity schedule in the near future!

Thank you,
Aaron Zupka
