Lady Eagles Remain Undefeated: Face ECC’s Glen Este Bowling Team This Week

SETTING THE SCENE:  The Lady Eagles, undefeated thus far, will look to stay that way when they face Glen Este this week.  The battle between the conference rivals will determine who sits atop the standings at the end of the week, as they battle for the ECC title. 

 

A LOOK BACK:  Standout Jessica Haines led the Lady Eagles with a 406 series high in a victory over Loveland, 2196-1477, on 12/5.  Jessica Norman added a 177 in game one, while three teammates posted similar averages; Lauren Shelton (157), Alyna Hook (154.5), and MacKenzie Mason (153).

The Eagles completed the sweep and maintained their perfect record following Wednesday’s 2067-1618 win over Loveland.  Jessica Norman averaged 164 over two games, while Hook (156) and Mason (151) weren’t far behind.  Jessica Haines rolled a 159 in game one; Shelton a 143 in game two.

The girls squad took part in the Annual Holiday Classic on Saturday, at the historic Western Bowl.  The Lady Eagles placed 9th overall of 34 teams from Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.  Shelton guided the Eagles to the top-ten finish with a 171 average and a three game series of 513.  Haines posted the high game for the Eagles (192), with a two game average of 191.  Mason added a three game series of 469; Megan Cannon’s two game average was 154.5.

 

A LOOK AHEAD:  Milford has a chance to take sole possession of first place in the conference this week as the Lady Eagles take on the co-leaders of the ECC, the Glen Este Trojans.  At least one team will end the week with a loss for the first time this season.

  • Wednesday, 12/14:                Glen Este HS @ Milford, Eastgate Lanes, 3:30 pm

 

INSIDE THE ECC:  Glen Este and Milford, both undefeated in conference and regular schedules, sit atop the conference standings; Turpin and Anderson follow at 2-2 in the ECC.  The remaining programs have yet to win a conference match: Kings, Loveland and Walnut Hills. 

Jessica Haines, Alyna Hook and Jessica Norman are among the individual leaders in the top ten of the ECC.

  • Alyna Hook:  high average (6th – 162.8); high game (t-9th – 192); high game (8th – 349)
  • Jessica Norman:  high game (t-9th – 192)

 

POLL WATCH:  Week three of the area coaches’ poll of the Cincinnati Enquirer finds Milford still in sixth, but tied with Fairfield who fell from their second position from last week.  The ECC’s Glen Este remained in first, followed by Seton, Oak Hills, Mercy and Northwest.   Also receiving votes in week two from the ECC: Anderson (8), Turpin (1) and Walnut Hills (1).
