McGeorge Ties School Record For Boys Bowling; A Look Ahead At Mason and Kings
SETTING THE SCENE: Two conference matches with Kings await Milford, and the results could impact the final standings as they fight to remain in the mix for a chance to share the Eastern Cincinnati Conference championship. Should the Milford boys bowling team defeat Kings twice in the week ahead, their fate will rest with the Wolves of West Clermont, who have yet to face Anderson and Loveland. The Eagles will also travel to Mason to take on the #4 ranked Comets.
A LOOK BACK: The Eagles won the first of two over Walnut Hills on Mon., Jan. 22, a 2305-2134 victory. Nathan McGeorge, who last year set two personal bests against Walnut Hills, outdid himself again as he recorded a 502 high series which tied the school record and a 268 in game one which was a new personal season best. Nathan Hawkins was outstanding with a 450 series, and Josh Cooper (359) joined with two games as well. Rodney Gorley (182), Jacob Donovan (146) and Nick Murphy (143) each added single games.
Milford’s squad completed the sweep of Walnut Hills on Jan. 25, this time 2730-2381. McGeorge again led the Eagles with a high series of 444. Josh Cooper was the second leading scorer with a 418 series, followed by Hawkins (407), Gorley (360) and Murphy (356).
A LOOK AHEAD: The Eagles have the opportunity to remain in the hunt for a share of the ECC title this week when they meet up with Kings for their final conference matches of the season. Just a few weeks ago Kings nearly took a match from ECC leader West Clermont, falling to the Wolves by just nine pins. Before Kings, however, Milford heads to #4 Mason for a tough nonconference test.

INSIDE THE ECC: West Clermont remains the conference leader at 8-0. Milford improved to 8-2, while two wins over Turpin moved Kings to a 5-3 record. Loveland fell to 4-4, Anderson is now 3-5, Turpin 2-8 and Walnut Hills fell to 0-8. Despite ranking second in the ECC, Milford continues to lead the league in team average at 963.1.

Josh Cooper: overall average (3rd – 208.4); high game (1st - 300); series high (t-6th – 479)
Rodney Gorley: overall average (7th – 198.3); high game (t-9th – 256); series high (3rd – 500)
Nathan Hawkins: overall average (6th – 199.1); high game (6th – 263); series high (4th – 498)
Nathan McGeorge: overall average (1st – 210.2); high game (3rd - 268); series high (2nd – 502)

POLL WATCH: The top five in the latest Enquirer area coaches’ poll remain unchanged, as Elder, Oak Hills, Northwest, Mason and LaSalle occupy the top spots in week eleven. Previously ranked seventh, ECC member West Clermont fell in the rankings and is now tied for ninth with Colerain.
