Milford Bowlers Compete at High School All-Star Tournament; Girls Help ECC To Championship

Milford’s Reagan Hodges, Reaghan Kaylor, Jessica Norman and Nathan Hawkins had the honor of competing at the All-Star Bowling Tournament at Colerain Bowl on April 7, 2019.

Hodges, Kaylor and Norman were members of the Eastern Cincinnati Conference team that won the girls title of the ten competing teams.  Joining them on the ECC all-star team were Turpin's Angelina Wehrman; Loveland's Maria Reich; and West Clermont's Darby Campbell and Taylor Neal.  Milford’s Butch Taylor helped coach the all-star girls, along with Michelle Dietz from Turpin and West Clermont’s Kevin Briggs. 

The top 8 bowlers from each league in Cincinnati/Dayton represent their respective leagues, in a tournament that is all about bragging rights for the year. 

The ladies, who were ranked No. 3, worked their way through the bracket, starting with a win over the SBAAC.  Next up, the ECC faced top seed GWOC East out of Dayton, featuring the top three bowlers in Ohio.  The ECC collected the victory, winning 2 of 3 in match play in what was the highest girl’s score I the tournament.  In the final four, the ECC defeating GMC 1 to advance to the finals where the ECC won the championship with a victory over the SWOC. 

Hawkins was one of the area’s best high school bowlers and a member of the boys ECC all-star team. The ECC had a bye, then fell out of the tournament after a loss to the GWOC East.
