Milford High School Announces Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2022

The Milford High School Athletic Department and the Milford Athletic Boosters Club are pleased to announce inductions for the Milford Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2022. Three individuals have been chosen by the Hall of Fame committee for enshrinement. They are:
• The late Pat Bonnell, Craft Show Founder & Class of 1963
• Craig Scott, Class of 1994 (Wrestling)
• Gary Tameris, Coach (Water Polo)

The trio will be inducted into the Hall of Fame prior to Milford’s boys varsity basketball game on January 21 against Lebanon. Festivities included a pre-induction reception and dinner for the new inductees, their families and friends and the current members of the Milford Hall of Fame.

Inductees will receive a plaque recognizing their athletic accomplishments from the Milford Athletic Boosters Club. A lifetime pass to all Milford Athletic Department events will also be presented. Each inductee’s name will be added to the Milford Athletic Hall of Fame recognition plaque located in the Fley Center lobby at Milford High School.

Induction Class of 2022 Bios

Pat Bonnell (Milford Athletic Boosters Craft Show Founder & Class of 1963)
• Served as director of the Milford Athletic Boosters Craft Show for over 20 years, helping to raise over $400,000 for the MABC
• Was President of the Milford Youth Basketball after the death of her husband, Roger
• Spent 10 years as the umpire coordinator for the Milford Youth Baseball Association
• Was also a special education aide for Milford Schools

Craig Scott (Class of 1994)
• Earned four varsity letters in wrestling, finishing with a career record of 97-37
• His 97 career victories were the most in school history at the time of graduation
• Captured a GMC Championship (1994) and two sectional championships (1993 & 1994)
• Was Milford’s first-ever four-time district qualifier, capturing the title in 1994
• Qualified for the OHSAA State Tournament in 1994, finishing one match from placing
• Served as team captain his senior year
• Finished career with nine tournament victories and five runner-up finishes
• Went on to wrestle at the University of Findlay where he was a two-time NAIA All-American and a three-time NAIA national qualifier

Gary Tameris (Coach)
• Started the swimming and water polo programs at Milford High School
• Served as head coach from 1989-2012
• Won Ohio State Water Polo Championships in 2006 and 2008
• Accumulated a total of 626 coaching wins between the boys and girls water polo squads
• Coached 10 All-Americans and over 100 All-Ohio water polo honorees
• Captured conference swimming championships in 2009 and 2010
• Coached over 600 district and 68 state swimming qualifiers during his career
• Mentored 65 All-Ohio and three All-Americans during his swimming coach tenure
• Awarded a total of six conference coach of the year awards for swimming
