Milford High School Baseball Pair Announce College Plans

Posted on: February 22, 2017

The Milford High School Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that two members of its baseball team and the Class of 2017 will continue their athletic careers on the collegiate level. The student-athletes that have committed to continuing their academic and athletic futures are Joey Ciraci (Bluffton University) and George Lucas (Wilmington College).

Ciraci enters 2017 as the only left-handed pitcher on the Milford staff. Head coach Tom Kilgore expects Ciraci to compete for innings either as a starter or a reliever in his first season as a member of the Eagles’ varsity squad.

At Bluffton, Ciraci will play for head coach James Grandey who is in his 14th season leading the Beavers. Joey is the son of Sam and Stacey Ciraci.

Lucas appeared in a pair of contests out of the Eagles’ bullpen last season, tossing three scoreless innings, without allowing a hit, while walking one and striking out four. He was a member of the Milford squad that finished as Eastern Cincinnati Conference Champions and regional runner-up in 2016.

At Wilmington, Lucas will play for third year head coach Dan Cleaver and will once again be a teammate of 2016 Milford grad Lance Fleischman. George is the son of Greg and Cathy.

These two commitments bring the total number for the MHS Class of 2017 to 14. Further signee information will be shared throughout the 2016-17 academic year as it is finalized.
