Posted on: April 11, 2022

The Milford High School Department of Athletics is excited to welcome Jessi Wendelken, a 2017 graduate of Milford, back home as the school’s new dance coach. Wendelken boasts an impressive resume that includes a member of the nationally renown University of Cincinnati Dance Team as well as a year as a Ben-gal cheerleader.

"It's a full circle moment being given the opportunity to coach my old high school dance team,” Wendelken stated. “I am so excited to give this program everything I have to offer!”

Since her graduation from Milford, Wendelken was a Magna Cum Laude graduate of UC and a four-year member of the Bearcat Dance Team. Even prior to graduating from Milford, she was an instructor at Dance Etc., a role she continues today. Last fall, Wendelken had the opportunity to be cheer for the Cincinnati Bengals, getting to perform at the team’s first Super Bowl appearance in over 30 years.

"It's a proud day for Milford High School to welcome back home accomplished 2017 alumnus Coach Jessi Wendelken,” Milford Athletic Director Aaron Zupka said. “You won't find someone more passionate and qualified about teaching dance than her. Jessi has danced/cheered at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels and her connection to our community and local dance studios will be extremely beneficial to our student-athletes. We’re excited to bring in a brilliant dance mind like Jessi and continue to build our program at Milford to an elite level."

Coach Wendelken will take over a Milford Dance program that has captured the last two Eastern Cincinnati Conference Championships.
