Milford Invitational Next For MHS Girls Cross Country

SETTING THE SCENE:   On the heels of the Princeton Invitational, the girls cross country team will host the Milford Invitational this weekend.  The Lady Eagles placed fifth at the Princeton Invite, once again despite a hot and humid morning.

 

A LOOK BACK:  Overall thirteen teams and more than one hundred runners took part in the girls varsity race at the Princeton Invitational, held Sat. Sept. 10th on another hot and humid race day.  Olivia Loeffler led the Lady Eagles for the second consecutive week, placing 12th in 22.48.  Close behind in 22.59.8 was Andrea Armstrong in 15th, while Cymone Horton was 3rd for the Eagles in 23.46.  Other top Eagles to crossing the finish:  Marisa Detore, Audrey Moore, Emma Beck, and Morgan Hills. 

Milford finished 5th of 13 teams, behind Colerain, Lebanon, Princeton, and Lakota East.  Click here for complete results from the Princeton Invite.

 

THE WEEK AHEAD:  The Eagles are back in action on Sat., Sept. 17th when they host the Milford Invitational.  Held at Valley View Nature Preserve, the Milford Invite kicks off Saturday morning at 9:30 am, with the varsity girls taking the start line at 10:00 am.  Last year the Eagles placed eighth of thirteen teams,   led by Cymone Horton who placed thirty-fifth.   Click here for Milford Invite information and live results.

 

INSIDE THE ECC:  Olivia Loeffler and Emma Beck continue to lead Milford, ranked 12th and 13th respectively.  Other Eagles who rank in the top fifty of the Eastern Cincinnati Conference include Cymone Horton (22nd), Andrea Armstrong (25th), Marisa Detore (29th), Katherine Perez (t-41st), and Audrey Moore (t-46th). 

 

POLL WATCH:  Once again, two ECC teams traded positions in week three of the Cincinnati Enquirer area coaches’ poll.  Mason once again received the most votes, but Kings moved back to second, and Turpin fell back to third.  Lakota West and St. Ursula occupy fourth and fifth for the second consecutive week.  Loveland, previously ranked tenth, fell out of the poll but received seven votes and Milford once again received four votes.
