Posted on: January 31, 2019

A total of 17 Milford High School student-athletes have been recognized for their outstanding performance during the fall sports season with inclusion on the 2018 Cincinnati Enquirer Fall All-Star teams. Of the group, football standouts Connor Foster and Cameron Kells were honored among the city’s best with inclusion on the first team.

Foster, headed for Northwestern University next season, was a special mention All-Ohio, first team All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference and Southwest District award recipient. A force on both side of the ball at tight end and defensive end, Foster was nearly unguardable at 6’8” tall. On offense, he hauled in 18 passes for 292 yards and four touchdowns and was a key blocker for Kells and the running game. He added 26 tackles and three pass break-ups on defense.

Kells was named the ECC Offensive Player of the Year, second team All-Ohio and a first team All-Southwest District choice. For the year, Kells led the ECC in rushing with 1,607 yards and 29 touchdowns. A dangerous receiving threat as well, Kells was third on the team in both receptions (34) and receiving yards (348), adding four more touchdowns for a total of 33 on the year. The rushing yards and touchdown totals were all the most by a Milford player in at least the decade.

The Eagles saw seven student-athletes earn second team All-City honors in their respective sports. The Milford honorees were: Ali Kirk (girls soccer), Tori Kittrell (girls soccer), Dustin Laudermilk (football), Matthew Marks (boys water polo), Joey Round (boys soccer), Brian Stevens (football) and Ellen Victory (girls water polo).

Kirk, a senior, earned first team All-ECC honors last fall as well as earning recognition on the All-Southwest Ohio team. She led the Eagles in goals (7), assists (5) and points (19) and her totals ranked her among the top-six in each category in the ECC in 2018.

Kittrell, just a junior, is a two-time first team All-ECC honoree. An important piece of a Milford defense that allowed just over one goal per match, Kittrell also got in the offensive act with two goals and three assists for seven points.

Laudermilk was a first team All-ECC and second team All-Southwest Ohio selection as a senior. One of the top defensive backs in the conference, as well as a dangerous player in the return game, Laudermilk recorded 55 tackles, nine pass break ups, two interceptions and a fumble recovery despite missing one game. He also recorded over 200 yards on returns, including a 79-yard punt return for a TD.

Marks, a junior, scored 72 goals for the Eagles and received honorable mention All-Ohio honors.

Round was one of the most prolific scorers in the ECC, raking among the league leaders in both goals and points and earning first team All-ECC honors. His team-best 14 goals tied for third in the league, while his 29 points placed him fifth.

Stevens had a monster season on the gridiron for the Eagles, earning first team All-ECC and second team All-Southwest Ohio honors. He was relentless on defense, leading the team with five sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss, among his 71 total stops. He also forced two fumbles, recovered two and broke up a pass. In addition to moonlighting on the offensive line, Stevens also handled the punting duties for the Eagles, averaging 39.5 yards per boot.

Victory, a senior and a team co-captain, had 98 goals during the 2018 season, which placed her seventh all-time in Milford Water Polo history. Her play earned her a spot on the All-Ohio second team.

Milford’s honorable mention selections for the fall were Jake Ayler (football), Kyle Boehm (boys soccer), Emily Dominique (girls soccer), Adam Horn (boys golf), Noah Hjelming (boys soccer), Emmy Sager (girls cross country) Erica Sharp (volleyball) and Brittney Thomson (girls water polo).
