Milford Places Six Among Cincinnati Enquirer Winter All-Stars

A total of six Milford High School student-athletes have been recognized for their outstanding performance during the fall sports season with inclusion on the 2019 Cincinnati Enquirer Winter All-Star teams. Of the group, swimming standouts Tyler Babinec and Chase Fisher were honored among the city’s best with inclusion on the first and second teams, respectively.

 

Babinec, who will compete next year at Auburn University, once again qualified for the OHSAA State Championships as a senior, finishing third in the 100 breaststroke. He was also a member of the 200 medley relay squad that qualified for state competition. At the ECC meet, Babinec won two league titles this year in relay competition, took the 100 breaststroke crown and finished .01 seconds of winning the 100 butterfly.

 

Fisher capped his senior year by being named the ECC Swimmer of the Year. His also competed at the OHSAA State Championships again over the winter as a member of the 200 medley relay squad. Fisher had a huge performance at the ECC Championships, setting new league championship records on his way to victories in the 50 and 100 freestyle. He also picked up wins and league marks in the 200 freestyle and 200 medley relays. He will compete next season at Denison University.

 

Milford’s honorable mention selections for the winter were Steven Huxell (boys basketball), Reaghan Kaylor (girls bowling), Max Ward (wrestling) and Azyiah Williams (girls basketball).
