Milford Wrestling Says Goodbye To Robbins Building Home
The Milford High School and Junior High School campus will undergo extensive renovations in the coming years and as with every bit of progress, sometimes saying goodbye to an old friend is part of the process. Such is the case at Milford, where the Robbins Building, home practice facility for Eagle Wrestling since 1978, will be demolished later this year. To say goodbye, an estimated crowd of around 80 attended a special Runnin’ It Back at the Robbins event on Friday, March 24.
Milford wrestling alumni, friends and families gathered in the building located just behind the current junior high to reminisce about Robbins before moving on to a reception at Milford restaurant By Golly’s. Current MHS boys and girls wrestling coaches Josh Clayton and Jason Babinec, both Milford grads, shared their thoughts as did former coaches Pete Babinec and Dave Norcross. Another former coach, Bob Smith, was also in attendance.
Along with social time and plenty of pictures, the night also featured opening remarks from Director of Athletics Aaron Zupka and an open floor time for attendees to offer their memories.
