Murphy Wins 100th; GMVWA Holiday Tourney At Wright State Ahead For MHS Wrestling

SETTING THE SCENE:  Congratulations to JimmyMurphy, who collected his 100th (and 101st) win last week at New Richmond last week.  The MHS wrestling team will be in action over the holiday break, as the team heads to the Greater Miami Valley Wrestling Association (GMVWA) Holiday Tournament held at Wright State University’s Nutter Center. 

 

A LOOK BACK:  The Eagles took the win over New Richmond but fell to Western Brown on Wed., 12/21.  Double winners included Jimmy Murphy, the senior who collected his 100th and 101st wins, as did senior Kyle Brady and freshman Jonah Fouts.  Derek Elliott competed in his first varsity match; the freshman picked up his first varsity win.

 

A LOOK AHEAD:  The Eagles will be active during the holiday break at the Greater Miami Valley Wrestling Association (GMVWA) Holiday Tournament held at Wright State University’s Nutter Center.

POLL WATCH:  The ECC’s Loveland, who fell out of the top ten last week, rose up to land in fourth in week three of the area coaches’ poll of the Cincinnati Enquirer.  While Elder held on to first, LaSalle moved to second and Mason fell to third.  Harrison follows Loveland in fifth.  Perhaps due to the holiday, no other programs in the area received votes in week three.
