Owens, Mason Named To All-ECC Team for Boys Tennis

ECC All-Conference:  Two Milford tennis team members were selected for Eastern Cincinnati Conference All-Conference honors.  Holden Owens was received second team honors, while Ben Mason was selected for honorable mention.

For the third consecutive year, Holden Owens was recognized by the Eastern Cincinnati Conference.  Owens was named second team All-Conference Team for 2017 for his singles play on the court.  The junior was also recognized this season by the Greater Cincinnati Tennis Coaches’ Association, receiving the Most Improved Player Award for 2017. He finished third at the ECC tournament despite an injury, and ended the season with a 12-5 overall record at first singles.

Junior Ben Mason received all-conference honorable mention this season for his play on the courts. He finished third at the GCTCA Flight C tournament.  He also reached the finals of the ECC tournament at second singles and took the podium in second place.  Mason finished the season at 11-5 overall at second singles, and 1-3 at first singles.

 

Athlete of the Year went to Grant Wendel of Turpin for the third year in a row, while his coach Kate Rodgers received Coach of the Year honors for the fourth consecutive year.
