Pair Of ECC Rivals Ahead For Girls Golf This Week

SETTING THE SCENE: Match-ups with Eastern Cincinnati Conference foes West Clermont and Turpin make up the slate of action for the Milford High School girls golf team this week. The Eagles played just once last week and will be looking to build on early season momentum gained from a second place finish in the ECC’s Preseason Tournament.

 

THE UPCOMING DOCKET: A look at Milford’s schedule for the upcoming week:

  • Tuesday, August 21 vs. West Clermont, Eagles Nest Golf Course, 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 23 at Turpin, Terrace Park Country Club, 4:00 p.m.

 

A LOOK BACK: August 14 at Kings: A match-up pitting the squads that finished 1-2 at the Eastern Cincinnati Conference Preseason Tournament went the way of Kings as the Knights knocked off Milford 173-192. Freshman Abi Loux paced the Eagles on the afternoon with a score of 47.

POLL WATCH: Milford’s continues to receive votes in the weekly Cincinnati Enquirer area coaches’ poll, released on Aug. 20. Lakota East is again this week’s top-ranked squad on the strength of six first place votes, with Mason (one vote), Ursuline, Sycamore and Mercy McAuley wrapping up the top-five. Seventh-place Lakota West earned the other top vote. The ECC is represented by Kings in eighth, with Loveland and Turpin part of a three-way tie for 10th. The coaches’ poll is released every Monday at Noon at preps.cincinnati.com/coachespolls.
