Postseason Honors Awarded To Four Milford Girls Basketball Players

Posted on: March 2, 2023

A pair of first team All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference and honorable mention Southwest District award winners highlight the postseason award received by members of the Milford girls basketball team. The headliners are senior Miah O’Toole and Violet Shuluga who received each honor. Joining the duo on the list of award winners is All-ECC second teamer Katie Tatum and honorable mention choice Kelsey McKenney.

O’Toole closed out one of the top careers of any Milford girls player in history with her second straight All-ECC first team award. This year, she led the Eagles in scoring and ranked fourth in the league at 13.7 points per game. A dangerous outside shooter and slasher to the rim, O’Toole made school history this season by draining a league-best 67 three-pointers, the most in a single season ever by an Eagle. She closes her career with not only the single-season three-pointer record, but also a share of the single-game mark (7). In addition, she ranks fifth in career points (842) and second in career three-pointers (131).

After earning honorable mention All-ECC a season ago, Shuluga had a breakout sophomore campaign averaging better than 12 points and nearly five rebounds per game. Her points total ranked her 10th in the ECC, while her rebounding mark was 15th.

Bound for Anderson (IN) University next season, Tatum is a first-time all-conference selection. From her point guard position, the diminutive Tatum averaged eight points and three assists per contest, with the latter the sixth-highest mark in the ECC. In an early season contest, Tatum also grabbed a share of the school record for three-pointes in a game with seven.

Following two seasons as a reserve post player, McKenney came into her own this winter as one of the Eagles’ top players. For the campaign, she averaged eight points and six rebounds per game, with the latter leading the team and tying for 10th in the league. McKenney also ranked eighth in the ECC with 17 blocked shots.
