Sager Advances to Regional Cross Country Tournament

Posted on: October 21, 2018

Freshman Emmy Sager will represent Milford at the Division I Regional Cross Country Meet, the first Lady Eagle to do so since 2012.

Sager’s 16th place finish at the OHSAA District Championship allowed her to move on to Regionals, as the top five teams and top twenty individuals advanced.  She crossed the finish in 19:33.

Olivia Loeffler’s new personal best time of 20:21 placed her 22nd, just two runners shy of joining Sager in moving on to Regionals.  Emily Rodeffer (51st, 21:29) and Gretchen Feldkamp (52nd, 21:30) were followed closely by Emma Beck (54th, 21:40), while Brooklyn George (70th, 22:41) and Brooke Stansell (72nd, 23:00) round out the varsity Eagles competing at the District meet.

The Lady Eagles competed in Girls Race 1 on Sat., Oct. 20, and finished 8th of thirteen teams.  The top five teams to advance to Regionals, in order of finish, were the ECC’s Turpin, Mason, Ursuline Academy, Mercy McAuley, and St. Ursula Academy.

Sam Bush of Turpin won the District Championship in Race 1 in 17:46 – her third consecutive District win, followed by Ursuline’s Hannah Doerger, Maddie Ullom of Mason, Ursuline’s Jenna Murdock, and Jayne Maxwell of Turpin.

In the Southwest District Race 2, Kings, Loveland and Walnut Hills advanced as teams, and West Clermont’s Maddie Walker won the individual title.
