Season Comes to a Close for Boys Cross Country

The boys cross country OHSAA Division I District Championship races were held at Voice of America Park last week, where the Eagles of Milford finished eighth among fourteen teams.

Senior A.J. Dickerson just missed advancing to the Regional meet, as he finished 18th in a field where the top 16 individuals advance.  The senior capped an outstanding first season of cross country with a time of 16:41. 

Dickerson was followed in 30th by teammate Dylan Mullarkey; the sophomore’s time of 17:15 was a new personal best.  Max McCann’s 18:19 was a new season’s best as well, and good for 56th place.  Rounding out the remaining Eagles: A.J. Kaylor (60th 18:34) and Zeke Edwards (62nd 18:43) crossing together; Kevin Barnett (68th 19:06 – new career record), and Luke Hawes (77th 19:48).

The Eagles competed in the Boys Division I Race 1 on Sat., Oct. 20.  The top four teams to advance to Regionals, in order of finish, were Mason, the ECC’s Turpin, Elder, and Lakota West.  Turpin’s Peter Morton won the individual District title in 15:57, followed by Isaiah Kelly of Mason, Elder’s Jarod Timmers, John Morton of Turpin, Jagger Vetter of Mason and Elder’s Cooper Mullen.

In the Division I Race 2, the ECC’s Kings, Loveland and Walnut Hills qualified for Regionals, and Jacob Krynock of Kings was the race’s runner-up.
