Posted on: October 23, 2017

The girls cross country OHSAA District Championship races were held at Voice of America Park last week, where the Lady Eagles of Milford team finished twelfth among fourteen teams.

The Eagles were led by sophomore Olivia Loeffler (20:53.5, 39th), followed by junior Andrea Armstrong (21:09.8, 45th).   Senior Lindsay Geise (50th), who set a new personal best at the ECC championships, topped that time once again in her final race, crossing the finish in 21:25.3.  Sophomore Emma Beck (22:10.8, 66th) and junior Hailey Steiner (22:13.3, 67th) weren’t far behind.  Milford’s final runners were freshmen Gretchen Feldkamp (22:41.2, 72nd) and Brooke Stansell (23:51.5, 82nd).

The Eagles competed in Race A, which included fourteen teams.  As they did in 2016, Ursuline Academy claimed the team championship with four runners in the top ten.  Ursuline was followed by the ECC’s Kings and Turpin, with Sycamore in fourth, all of whom will advance to Regionals.

For the second consecutive year, Turpin’s Samantha Bush won the District Championship, with a time of 17:37.7.  Felicia Krekeler of Ursuline was second and another outstanding runner from the ECC, Maddie Walker of West Clermont, took third place.
