Season Ends For MHS Bowling Teams At Districts

An outstanding season ended for the MHS bowling teams; Nathan McGeorge nor the girls team were able to qualify for the State Tournament after competing at the OSHAA Division I District Bowling competition. 

The Lady Eagles competed at Districts on Wed., Feb. 28 at Beaver-Vu Lanes near Dayton.  Senior Jessica Haines led the Eagles, placing 47th in the final standings of the 150 bowlers competing.  Bowling in all three games, Haines averaged a 181.3 with a high series of 544, followed by classmate MacKenzie Mason’s three game series of 524. 

Jessica Norman recorded a 462 series to end her junior season, while senior Megan Cannon ended her career with a series of 450.  Reagan Hodges added a 162 in game two.

Sophia Fischer of Northwest was the Division I champion, with a 726 series.  At 21st, Hannah Freeman of Walnut Hills was the top ECC individual.

The Eagles ended the tournament in 16th place of the 24 teams who participated.  The top five teams advancing to the State Tournament include Butler, Troy, Miamisburg, Kettering Fairmont, and Centerville.

Following another impressive season, senior Nathan McGeorge ended his MHS career at the District Tournament as well.  McGeorge tied for 52nd of the 157 individuals competing, posting a three game series of 602.

Eric Middlekamp of the ECC’s Kings posted the tournament’s high series of 731 to claim the District championship.   No Eastern Cincinnati Conference individual or teams advanced to the State Championship. 

The top five teams who advanced out of the District Tournament on Thurs., March 1 to next week’s State Tournament include Beavercreek, Butler, Oak Hills, Centerville, and Bellefontaine.
