April 14 at Loveland: Milford 18, Loveland 3

GAME REWIND
Nine runs in the first and eight more in the fifth were more than enough as Milford pummeled Loveland for the second day in a row by an identical score of 18-3. The Eagles finished with 17 hits on the day, including six doubles.

Kaitlyn Bibb led Milford with three RBI, while Taylor Stemmerding and Avery Fielman each had three.

GAME REWIND
Milford went toe-to-toe with St. Joseph Academy out of Cleveland, one of the top teams in Ohio, before ultimately falling short by a 5-2 final in the opening contest of the Wendy’s Classic. The Eagles struck first with a fourth inning run, but a pair of errors led to a five-run fifth inning by SJA that led to the win.

Sam Boothby got the Eagles on the board with a run-scoring single in the fourth but two errors in the fifth led to five unearned runs for St Joseph. Milford got one of the runs back in the sixth with a Brooklyn Stewart RBI double, but the Eagles could get no closer.

April 17 at Brookside Park: Milford 18, Ontario 7

GAME REWIND
The Eagles quickly shook off the loss to St. Joseph but running through a tough Ontario team by an 18-7 score in a five-inning contest. Milford led by just 4-2 heading into the fourth inning but plated an astounding 13 runs in the fourth to pull away. MHS finished the onslaught with 25 hits.

An unearned run in the first got Milford off and running but Ontario responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning to go in front. A Meghan Stulz RBI base hit in the second evened the score and run-scoring hits by Brooklyn Stewart and Sam Boothby in the third put the Eagles in front for good.

In the fourth, Avery Fielman, Boothby and Olivia Craycraft all recorded two-run hits, but the big hit belonged to Stewart who launched a grand slam. A Taylor Stemmerding triple in the fifth wrapped up the Eagles’ scoring.

GAME REWIND
Milford turned a close game into a blowout as they wrapped up the Pool D Championship at the Wendy’s Classic with a 17-6 thumping of previously undefeated Strasburg Franklin. The Eagles led just 9-6 heading into the bottom of the fifth, but an eight-run explosion sealed the win.

The Lady Tigers picked up three first inning runs to take an early edge, before an Emily Allphin single in the bottom of the frame got the Eagles on the board. Milford tacked on three more in the third on RBI by Sam Boothby, Meghan Stulz and Taylor Stemmerding. Four more runs came across in the third, extending Milford’s edge to 8-3. Olivia Craycraft had two RBI, while Kaitlyn Bibb and Stulz had one each.

The two teams would trade runs in the fourth, before the Tigers drew within three runs in their half of the fifth. The eight run fifth by Milford started with RBI by Allphin, Avery Fielman and Brooklyn Stewart (2) and ended with a bang, when Bobb ripped a three-run homer that ended the contest.

GAME REWIND
Milford continued to roll, scoring nine runs in the top of the first inning of a 13-0 victory over Winton Woods. The Eagles’ featured several starters getting a day off but it made no difference as Milford pounded out 15 hits in the win.

Madelyn Jones had a huge day at the plate, going 4-for-4 and driving in three, while scoring twice. Emily Allphin, Sam Boothby and Madi Fugate all had two RBI in the win. In the circle, Boothby was untouchable, spinning a one-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts to earn her 10th win of the season.

GAME REWIND
Emily Allphin pitched a five-inning no-hitter with 11 strikeouts as the Eagles finished off a doubleheader sweep of Winton Woods with a 12-0 victory. Milford scored eight times in the first to give Allphin all the support she’d need. Allphin narrowly missed a perfect game as a Milford error produced the Warriors’ only baserunner.

Kaitlyn Flynn had the best game of her short career with four RBI, while Sam Boothby knocked in three. Allphin helped herself at the dish with a trio of hits.
