April 2 at Milford: Milford 12, Oak Hills 9

Milford jumped to a 9-1 lead then held off an Oak Hills comeback in another wild one, a 12-9 Eagles win over the Highlanders. The Eagles exploded for eight extra-base hits on the day, including home runs by Taylor Stemmerding and Brooklyn Stewart in the win.

The Eagles got off to a fast start, leading 6-1 after a single inning of action. Sam Boothby highlighted the frame with a three-run double to help herself. The lead grew to 9-1 an inning later when Stewart connected on a three-run blast, her first of the season.

Oak Hills got rolling in the third with five runs, tacking on two more in the fourth to cut the deficit to 9-8. The Eagles gave themselves some breathing room with a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth, the latter pair coming on Stemmerding’s big fly, her first of the campaign.
