April 26 at Milford: Milford 14, Little Miami 4

GAME REWIND
The Milford offensive machine rolled on as the Eagles won for the sixth straight outing, run-ruling Little Miami for the second straight game, 14-4. The Eagles pounded out 20 hits on the day, including four by Sam Boothby, while a trio of Milford players collected three RBI each.

Emily Allphin was solid pitching again for Milford, hurling four shutout innings, before running into a little trouble in the fifth. She still yielded just four hits and struck out five.

The Eagles put up a “crooked number” in the first, plating four to take command early. A two-run single by Brooklyn Stewart got it started, with Boothby and Mollie Bloom also collecting RBI in the inning.

An Avery Fielman RBI double in the second made it 5-0, while a Kaitlyn Bibb sac fly in the third left the score at 6-0. The third inning saw Bibb at it again, with her two-RBI double highlighting a three-run inning.

In the fifth, Little Miami finally broke through on Lauren Holt’s grand slam. But Milford responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning to end it early. Stewart had an RBI double in the inning, Boothby plated two with a double and Bloom added an RBI single of her own. The game ended when Taylor Stemmerding drove a run-scoring single to center.
