May 1 at Centerville: Milford 12, Centerville 4

GAME REWIND
Sam Boothby hit a pair of home runs, leading Milford to its ninth straight win, a 12-4 road victory at Centerville. The Eagles struck early and often, then piled on four runs in the seventh to pick up a big non-conference victory heading into the OHSAA Tournament.

Boothby got the Eagles on the board in the second, driving a pitch over the centerfield wall with a runner on-board for a 2-0 Milford lead. An inning later, Avery Fielman made it 4-0 when she lined a single that plated Olivia Craycraft and Taylor Stemmerding.

The fourth inning was a big one as the Eagles doubled their lead, starting off with a Boothby line shot over the right field fence. Later in the inning, a wild pitch, an RBI groundout and a sac fly made it 8-0 Eagles.

In the seventh, Milford batted around, starting the scoring on Boothby’s fourth RBI of the game on with a run-scoring single. Mollie Bloom, Meghan Stulz and Kaitlyn Bibb all collected RBI in the frame as well. The Elks got all four of their runs in the bottom of the seventh.
