Swimming Teams Back In Action Hosting Anderson, Traveling To Dayton

THE UPCOMING DOCKET: A look at Milford’s upcoming schedule:

  • Wednesday, Dec. 19 vs. Anderson, Milford HS, 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 22 at Butler Invitational, Wright State University, 2:30 p.m.

 

THE BOYS REPORT: Milford captured five individual and a relay victory but it wasn’t quite enough as the Eagles fell to Kings, 93-77. Junior Tim Greenwell won a pair of freestyle races while senior Sam Leatherwood and sophomores Porter Bausch and Mitchell Hansbauer each grabbed an individual crown, while also helping the 200 freestyle relay squad to victory.

 

A look at Milford’s winners against Kings:

  • 200 freestyle: Porter Bausch 2:01.79
  • 50 freestyle: Tim Greenwell 25.04
  • 100 freestyle: Mitchell Hansbauer 53.66
  • 500 freestyle: Tim Greenwell 5:18.05
  • 200 freestyle relay: Mitchell Hansbauer, Porter Bausch, Nathan Klick, Sam Leatherwood 1:36.90
  • 100 backstroke: Sam Leatherwood 55.58

 

THE GIRLS REPORT: Like the boys team, the girls also gave a good performance against a traditionally strong Kings team, before falling short 90-77. Senior Megan Krieger and junior Lauren Clark won individual races while swimming the second and third legs of the winning 200 freestyle squad.

 

A look at Milford’s winners against Kings:

  • 200 IM: Sophia Otten 2:47.53
  • 100 freestyle: Madelyn Payne 1:03.83
  • 500 freestyle: Lauren Clark 5:37.03
  • 200 freestyle relay: Acacia Spencer, Megan Krieger, Lauren Clark, Abbey Sauers 1:52.96
  • 100 breaststroke: Megan Krieger 1:17.99

 

POLL WATCH: The boys squad didn’t receive any votes in the weekly Cincinnati Enquirer Division I area coaches’ poll. St. Xavier earned all three of the first place votes that were cast, ahead of a top-five comprised of Mason, Oak Hills, Sycamore and Elder. The ECC is represented by Elder in sixth, Turpin in eighth and Anderson and Loveland receiving votes.

 

The girls team also didn’t receive any votes in this week’s rankings. Ursuline Academy is No. 1 this week, despite not receiving any first place votes. Mason (two votes), Seton (one vote), Turpin and Lakota West complete the top-five. The ECC also has Kings and Loveland in a tie for seventh, along with Walnut Hills among other teams also receiving votes.
