Three cross country athletes selected All-ECC

ECC All-Conference:  Three Milford High School athletes were selected to the Eastern Cincinnati Conference’s all-conference roster for boys and girls cross country, including Andrea Armstrong, Harris Craycraft and Clayton Virzi.

 

Boys:  Two Eagles were recognized for the 2017 season. 

Senior Harris Craycraft’s was named to the ECC’s All-Conference second team.  His impressive cross country career at Milford High School came to an end at the OHSAA Regionals, the first time in four years the Milford’s boys cross country team had a representative competing at the Regional event.  Craycraft qualified for regionals with a twelfth place finish at the District Championship with a career best of 16:37. Craycraft was named second team All-ECC in 2016 when he was again Milford’s top runner at the OHSAA District Championship, and was named first team in 2015 as a sophomore.

Clayton Virzi was selected to receive honorable mention honors for the ECC All-Conference awards.  Virzi, who was outstanding in his senior season, ended the year ranked third in the ECC.  He finished second overall at the Xavier University High School Invitational, with a personal best time of 16:23, the best time by a Milford Eagle in a number of years.  In 2016, Virzi received first team honors after placing tenth overall at the ECC Championships.

 

Girls:  Milford’s Andrea Armstrong led the Lady Eagles late in the season, earning her honorable mention for the 2017 ECC All-Conference honors.  She was the first Lady Eagle to cross the finish at the 2017 ECC Championship, and finished with a season best 20:17 at the Princeton Invitational. In 2016, Armstrong received second team honors after placing twenty first overall at the ECC Championships.
