Three Former Eagles Going Dancing In D3 Women’s Hoops Tourney

Posted on: February 27, 2018

A trio of Milford graduates now playing on the collegiate level will take part in the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Tournament which begins on Friday at campuses across the country. The College Eagles that will take to the court are Tori Gilman and Hayden White of Thomas More College, along with Hannah Woody of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

Gilman and White are members of local powerhouse Thomas More, who will open play at home against Oglethorpe. Gilman has played in 26 of the Saints’ 27 games, averaging 2.3 points per game and ranking fourth on her team with 28 steals. White has started all 27 games of her first college season and is averaging 3.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.

Woody is a sophomore for the Fightin’ Engineers, helping them to a 24-3 record for the year. Rose-Hulman will be in action in the UW-Whitewater pod and will open play against Gustavus Adolphus on Friday. Woody has appeared in 16 games this year, averaging two points, one rebound and one assist per game off the bench.

Should both Thomas More and Rose-Hulman advance from the first two rounds of play, the three Milford grads would square off on the court in the Round of 16.
